I called for an estimate on my wrap-around laneway. Fairly large area to cover. John came out to give me the estimate and he was so kind, but it was a bit out of my price range so I put it on hold. 8 months later I call to see if any arrangements could be made. Chris kindly came out again and fine-tuned the estimate, by revising the coverage area and suggesting that maybe do in sections. I was so impressed by his customer service and attention to my individual needs that I found a way and got it done. It was supposed to take 2 days, but the guys actually finished in 1 day!!!

We had our driveway resurfaced by Gravel Driveway Services on October 6, 2022. The crew arrived as promised, and at all times, we’re polite and respectful. Operating 3 large machines, it was a joy to watch them work….very precise, orchestrated movements, no damage to walkways or garage.
The area was cleanly excavated, all the weeds removed, then the base compacted. With economy of movement, the recycled asphalt was spread, levelled, and the edges shaped neatly.
After being compacted, I was concerned with the stability of the product, as it still seemed a bit soft. Chris assured me that the coming rain would stiffen it right up, and that’s indeed what happened. It’s a great solution for our very steep driveway.

We couldn’t be more pleased with our new drive. It was interesting to see how well the drive coped with the heavy rains we’ve had recently, which was an issue we were hoping to solve. This is a positive review for Gravel Driveway Services. I had a very long and much neglected driveway in need of restoration at our country property. Our major issues were poor drainage of water from three ponds and mud on the surface that was deposited by farm machinery. It was nearly impassible on a dry weather day much less a rainy one.

We had many problems over the years trying to keep our winding, gravel driveway from eroding as a result of heavy precipitation. In 2014 we contacted Chris to give us an estimate and explain to us how his recycled asphalt product could keep our driveway not only looking good but free from erosion since it is on an incline and subject to the force of running water. We were impressed by Chris’ efficient, knowledgeable manner from the moment we met him. He explained the benefits of using recycled asphalt and gave us addresses for us to see what other jobs he had done. We checked out those addresses and decided to go ahead. We have been thrilled with our decision and loving the clean, sharp look of the asphalt. We were equally thrilled to see how well the driveway held up and continued to look good no matter how much precipitation. We had a minor issue with flash flooding and contacted Chris. He responded immediately and came to take a look and do the necessary repair. His level of responsiveness and willingness to guarantee his work, coupled with his integrity and that of his crew has made it an absolute pleasure dealing with Chris. Chris made excellent recommendations for what was best to resurface, was extremely professional at all times and focused heavily on understanding our needs and meeting or exceeding our expectations. They were prompt, and fulfilled all the written and verbal commitments well. Because our property was under construction with a good deal of traffic at the time the work was done, Chris had to return some time later to re-roll some of the surface and redo other areas. He returned as promised and once again did an excellent job.
The asphalt itself is perfect for our needs. It has a rich look, is firm and much more long lasting than the gravel surface we had in the past, but has an appealing texture which fits well with the look and feel of our property.
